On the 2nd of October Armenian soldier Hakob Injighulyan returned to Armenia after being a captive in Azerbaijan for more than one year.
On the 8th of August in 2013 he crossed the border of Azerbaijan and was captivated. As Azerbaijan refused to return Injighulyan to Armenia, he had to choose to be transferred to a third country. After some negotiations between the governments of Armenia and Azerbaijan, and with the help of the International committee of the Red Cross Injighulyan was transferred to Romania, from where he was able to return to Armenia.
Now Injighulyan wants to continue his military service for 9 months. According to the press secretary of the Defense Ministry Artsrun Hovhannisyan, only after passing a health inspection will Hakob Injighulyan be able to return to his military service.
