Public Reading with Five Contemporary American Writers took place at AUA, October 22, 2-4:30 PM. The event was MC-ed by AUA’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences. They cooperated with the Armenian Literature Foundation, the International Writing Program and the US Embassy in Armenia. The writers, who represented their works were Gish Jen, Mary Hickman, Peter Balakian, Chris Merrill, and Gregory Orfalea.

The aim of the Public Reading was to share some of the contemporary American writing with the Armenian society. That’s why, the event was open not only for AUA people, but also for the general public.

Interviews can be conducted not only with the writers, but also with one or two of the organizers. It would be interesting to also ask students about their opinions about the event.
