Armenian government has approved the draft loan agreement with Russia to extend the term of the Armenian NPP, Finance Minister Gagik Khachatryan said.
He noted that the loan will be used for the works to extend the deadline for operation of the nuclear power plant from 2016 till 2026.
Earlier Energy Minister Yervand Zakharyan said that the funding includes a loan of $270 million and a grant of $30 million.
It should be recalled that on the 13th of September in 2013 the Armenian government had taken a decision about the extention of the term of NPP till 2026 and that Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, stated that the experts of “Rosatom” state enterprise will help to compile a tecnical project.
