Armenia’s defense ministry is close to a deal with Russia on the establishment of an air-defense system in Armenia. Russia will be the one supplying and building the system in Armenia. Talks between the countries are in a final stage.

Discussions will be held between Russian and Armenian delegates from December 9 to 11. The meeting is envisaged by a plan on bilateral cooperation for 2014 signed between the Defense Ministries of Armenia and Russia.

Even though Armenia’s dependency on Russia is not good, it is good to see that they are being a solid military partner. Air-defense system will hugely increase Armenia’s military strength and, as long as it does not cost the taxpayer too much, is greatly welcomed.
