YEREVAN. – Violence against women is still a genuine issue in Armenia, UNICEF Representative in Armenia Henriette Ahrens said on Monday.

As police reports, almost 1,500 women experienced aggressive behavior at home in January-August 2015, Ahrens said during a conference committed to the dispatch of “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence” battle.

“The UN office in Armenia calls to stop violence against women and once again expresses support to protection of the rights of women,” she concluded.
