Hayeli media club will host sociologist T. Meliqyan on December 9, 2014 at 12:00 pm. Meliqyan will talk about the sanctions implemented toward Russia, Russia-Armenia migratory stream, Armenians working abroad, their state, expectations and predictions about that.
This press-conference will be followed by another, which will be about New Year, inward and outward tourism, and expectations from it. The speakers of the second press conference will be Marina Kpryan, the president of the Armenian Tour Operators’ Association, and Sona Yeghiazaryan, a director of a travel agency.
I think these press-conferences are worth paying attention to as they concentrate on a very relevant topic for Armenians – working abroad. Every year many people leave Armenia for a seasonal work abroad. This has two effects. At first, it causes decrease of workforce in Armenia. Secondly, it causes decrease in population because many people working abroad tend to settle there.
This is an important topic for Armenia and it will be interesting to hear the perspective of people, who have some data about it.
