The president of the Republic of Armenia signed the decree about conscription and demobilization in the armed forces of Armenia. It is a usual procedure taking place every year. And every year during the months of June-August and December-February, new young men are recruited to the army.
Starting from December till February all the Armenian citizen males that are at least 18 years old and younger than 27, and did not serve in the Armenian armed forces, and have the required qualifications given by the law, will become soldiers. The Armenian law about the conscription the military service is compulsory in Armenia. At the same time the decree of the president starts the demobilization process in all the subdivisions of the armed forces and soldiers who were recruited 2 years ago will return home.
As the decree is signed, many young people are going through the medical examinations and other procedures so that they will be ready to serve since December. The president also assigned the government of Armenia to make a decision for the decree to function without problems. The decree is in force the day after it is signed.
